Around 1:45 p.m, a 1939 Taylorcraft two seater plane went down on Lakewood golf course.It was flying from Lakeland, en route to Manatee County, when it lost power. The 18-year-old pilot and his dad were on board at the time. They were hoping to make it to Albert Whitted Airport in St. Pete, but instead, had to land in the 12th fairway of the golf course.
