Background information

凧揚げ

日本の凧は、竹の骨に和紙を貼って作ります。凧揚げはかつては子供の成長を祝い、将来の多幸を祈って行われていましたが、今は伝統的な正月の遊びとして親しまれています。

Takoage(Kite-flying)

Japanese kites made with Japanese paper[Washi] glued on a bamboo frame.Tako-age used to be practiced to celebrate a child'sgrowing up and to pray for the child's happiness in the future, but nowit is enjoyed as a traditional New Year's activity.
