He studied Fine Art at Design course in high school, working on mostly graphic
art. In 1996, he attended Visual Arts College Osaka. In the same year, he went
on to make another two works; firstly, “RANCHI” in which he built a surreal world by incorporating
a tableau element which composed a painting as image. And secondly,

“Coffee fish” which was literally made by himself, in which he did star, shooting
and editing etc… With the latter film, he established what would later become
his trademark; weaving a picture in a frame. After graduation, he made
“Kamino-keno-kawa” with which he toured independently, centering in Kansai.
The film was also screened overseas. In 2001, he made his first feature
“RIDDLE” which was screened in the evening slot in Osaka and had
public reverberations.

were screened at Vancouver International Film Festival and Pusan International Film Festival, attended Visual Arts College Osaka after having studied Fine Art at Design course in high school. With this film he audaciously depicted a bizzare Expressionist-like world, in which leading actor Nobuyuki Teruhiko won the Best Actor prize at CO2.
