Jacket potatoes
I enjoyed walking today, but it was a little cold. So, my potato
on the dinner table wore the jacket! Ha ha! It's not my joke, my host family
said. Actually I had never saw "real" jacket potatoes till this
evening. It was so big, more than I had imagined. And I was surprised to
hear that the skin of potato is for eat. I usually don't eat the skin of
potato in Japan, or rather I can't eat them, because Japanese potato have
hard skins. It is not delicious and digestible.
I always think that British vegetables are more delicious than Japanese.
In fact the skin of jacket potatoes was so delicious. It was not hard and
a little sweet I felt. We ate that with tunas and sweetcorn, and we didn't
need another. I eat dessert every night, but I couldn't eat one tonight.
So, I wonder why many people don't like British foods. Of course
my host mother is a great chef, and I have never eaten bad food in the
U.K. It's a miracle because I sometimes happen on the bad restaurant especially
in Japan. I think that British people are honest, more than Japanese in
general. Every British restaurant walk with great care. Then I feel replete,
I think.
