Active Line has been promoting international exchange in Hachioji offering a variety of activities for many years. Starting in fall 2005 we would like to add an outdoor activity as well.

 O
ne of our members, Uwe Makino, will lead hiking groups in Western Tokyo. We will start from Takao station using either the Chuo or Keio lines or a bus from Takao (North Exit). Duration and difficulty of a hike depends on the members of a particular event.

If children are participating, the area around Mt.Takao could be an option. Longer hikes would include peaks like Mt.Kagenobu, Mt.Jinba, or Mt.Mikuni.
Going to an Onsen after a day of hiking could be optional in the Mt.Jinba area.

All these routes are for beginners and at times moderately difficult.
Even though no climbing gear is required, solid shoes are very important.
