エサの与え方 (How to give food)

雑食性で、何でもよく食べる。 大食漢なので、安価なコイのエサが最適。　我が家の日常管理としては、コイのエサ、煮干し、冷凍アジをメインに与え、たまにクリルやエサ金を与えている。(Cheap food, such as food of fancy carp, is the most suitable because this fish eats anything well and it is a glutton. Carp food, dried small sardineis and frozen horse-mackerel being given as a daily treat in my house.)

混泳 (Keeping with other fishes)

アロワナ、ダトニオ、キャットフィッシュ等の大型魚と混泳可能です。(This fish can keep with the large fish such as arowana, Siam tiger fish and catfish etc.)

飼育上の留意点 (A notice point in breeding)

成長が早く、遊泳力があるので大きくて丈夫な水槽が必要である。　また、あごの力が強く、歯を持っているので、ヒーターやサーモスタット等のコード類には十分注意が必要である。できれば、オーバーフロー式の水槽で、ろ過槽内にヒーターやサーモスタットをセットする方が安全である。(A large water tank is necessary because this fish grows quickly and becomes big. Moreover, since the power of the jaw is strong and has teeth, attention is fully necessary for the cables of heater and thermostat. If it can be done, it should be safe that heater and thermostat are set within filtration tank in overflow-type water tank.)
