Let's think about an affection of an atmospheric turbulance to a point spread function, a star image.
Generally, refractors show us better images than reflecting telescopes. To inspect this difference, focus on contrast and resolution of telescopes. PSFs' sidelobe of refractors is smaller than reflction's one, which results in higer contrast by refrectors. This calculation is well-known.
Next is about the resolution. A calculation of PSFs with a turbulant wavefront showed me that the less obstruction produces the less destrucion of PSF. Look at the result image of the calculation.
Thus, refractors show us much better image than reflecting telescopes.
